OCEAN DAY 2006

On May 22nd, over 7,000 kids converged on California's beaches to take part in the 13th Annual Kids' Adopt-A-Beach Cleanup. This year, the themes of the aerial art were:

"Make the Connection" and "Help Oceans Thrive"

They removed litter and created aerial art at the following locations:

LOS ANGELES - "Make the Connection"

2,800 kids at Dockweiler State Beach.

SAN FRANCISCO - "We Are All Connected"

1,300 Bay Area students at Ocean Beach

HUMBOLDT - "Help Beaches Thrive"

625 kids at South Spit of Humboldt Bay, remove trash, and restore sand dune habitat.

ORANGE COUNTY - "Help Oceans Thrive"

1,000 kids from inland schools at Huntington State Beach.

SAN DIEGO - "Help Us Thrive"

1,500 kids at Oceanside City Beach.

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY - "Thrive"

125 students from Strathmore, Tulare County at Cayucos State Beach.
